Entrepreneurship runs deep in the McKeon family. Matt grew up in Brielle, where he met his wife, Seton. They later made Manasquan their home and began raising their family. Matt and Seton are blessed with four children — Wells, Ellis, Easton, Collins and a black lab Scout — who you’ll often see in the store or running around town. Back Dock Outfitters is truly a family affair.

Matt’s passion for small business was inspired early on by watching his parents, Howard and Linda McKeon, run Center Food Market for 48 years. Linda continued her entrepreneurial journey by opening Charlotte West Baby and Violet & Valentine, both beloved staples in town today. The family tradition continues with Matt’s brother, Chris McKeon, who owns Off Center Food Supply in Manasquan.

Opening a business here isn’t just a career move for Matt — it’s part of his heritage.
